Barcelona plan for Joao Felix is to keep him on loan for another season. However if Barca fail to reach an agreement with Atletico Madrid they will drop their interest in the player according to Gerard Romero.

Barcelona still admire Felix and believe he could be a game changer but they consider him too expensive due to his 80 million price tag.

Felix started his Barca career brilliantly by winning games against Atletico Madrid and Porto. But even though he added six more goals and five assists Xavi no longer sees him as a starter.

In addition Barca are facing financial difficulties after a fair financial tightening in La Liga. It makes Felix a player the club cannot afford.

Barca may be relying on Felix to replace loan signing Ansu Fati in the summer if they are unable to sign him on loan.
